Started as Eco-club in 2002, to promote environmental awareness and make the students as environmentally vibrant and to educate students about environmental issues and train them.


Nature Club Report
  • Young Indians Masoom Training Programme was conducted on 13.03.2020 to create awareness on Child Sexual Abuse and safety measures among School students.
  • Awareness Programme on Cancer in women was organized by TCE through Cyclothon on 08.03.2020.
  • Young Indians Masoom Training was held on 27.02.2020 to create awareness on Child Sexual Abuse and safety measures among School students.
  • Conducted various competitions on Swami Vivekananda's 150th Birth anniversary to help students know about Swami Vivekananda's life and legacy on 24.01.2020.
  • Awareness Programme on Road Safety was held on 21.01.2020 among village people by insisting them to wear helmet and also about road safety.
  • Constitution Awareness Programme to the public and college students was organized on 26.11.2019.
  • Organized Volunteer Crowd Regulation duty on 12.10.2019 and 13.10.2019 to help public in the Keeladi archaeological site.
  • Cleaned Wastages at theppakulam on 02.10.2019 to keep the city clean and hygienic on Gandhi Jayanthi.
  • Navarathri Golu crowd regulation duty was held in temple from 29.09.2019 to 07.10.2019.
  • Cleaned Thirumalai Nayak mahal on 27.09.2019 to keep its surrounding clean on World Tourism Day.
  • World Senior Citizens day was Celebrated in a hospice with the oldage people on 21.08.2019.
  • Distributed Tree saplings on 15.08.2019 and 16.08.2019 to motivate the habit of planting trees among college students.
  • Cleaned and Segregated the wastages on Dr.Abdul kalam's memorial day for healthy environment on 27.07.2019.
  • Awareness programme on cleanliness regarding Hand wash was conducted on 22.07.2019 to school students.
  • Awareness Programme on afforestation was created by mass tree plantation on 03.07.2019.
  • Celebrated International Day of Yoga on 19.06.2019 to help students have a stress free situation.
  • World Environment Day on 05.06.2019 was celebrated by awaring people about Air Pollution.
  • A special lecture was given by Dr.K.Rajedran, Associate Professor, Dept of Botany on Forest Conservation and Establishment of nursery under "Natural Resource conservation" on 01.02.2019.
  • Environmental Consciousness programme was arranged on 30.01.2019. Dr.K.Thangavel, Assistant Professor, Dept of Biotechnology explained the Causes and impact of Climate Change.
  • Natural Resources conservation was held on 11.01.2019. Impact Of Soil Mining was explained by Dr.K.Thangavel, Assistant Professor, Dept of Bio technology.
  • Awareness programme for Voters under "Nation Building" was organized on 25.01.2019 by Dr.K.Srinivasan, Dean, Students welfare and extra- curricular activities.
  • Awareness programme was conducted for Voters on 25.01.2019 by Deputy Tahsildar, East taluk, Madurai.
  • A Special Lecture on Chemical Industries and Environmental Impact w.s.r to India in "Natural Resource Conservation" was explained by Dr.K.Thangavel, Assistant Professor, Dept of Biotechnology on 27.12.2018.
  • Natural Disasters and its Causes, effects and management was explained by Dr.K.Thangavel, Assistant Professor, Dept of Biotechnology on 20.12.2018.
  • A Special Lecture on Natural Disasters causes and management strategies in "Environmental Consciousness" on 11.12.2018 was given by Dr.K.Thangavel,Assistant professor, Dept of Biotechnology.
  • Awareness Programme on Corruption free India on 10.12.2018 was given by Mr. Suramanian, Regional Manager, United India Insurance, Madurai.
  • The concept of Corruption free India was explained by Mr.S.Raja, Debate Speaker, Madurai on 10.12.2018.
  • Conducted Seminar on Recent Cyclones in India and its causes and management on 20.09.2018 by Dr.K.Thangavel, Assistant Professor, Dept of Biotechnology.
  • Cleaned Theppakulam to highlight the "Swatch Bharat Mission" under the guidance of Dr.R.Selvakumar, Assistant Professor, Dept of Tamil on 06.09.2018.
  • Environmental Production Programme was conducted on 02.08.2018. Dr.K.Rajendran, Associate Professor, Dept of Botany explained the significance of Organic Farming.
  • Celebrated Monsoon festival on 02.08.2018 under Dr. K.Thangavel, Assistant Professor, Dept of Biotechnology.
  • Conducted awareness programme on differentiation of degradable and non-degradable waste for sanitary workers of our College on 03.03.2017 at 9.30 am to 10.30 am in our College premises.
  • Awareness program on Pollution and its effects was conducted, Volunteers exhibited charts in College campus on 02.03.2017.
  • Awareness program on Anti Plastic was conducted, Volunteers exhibited charts in College campus on 28.02.2017.
  • Awareness program on Water Conservation and Management was conducted, Volunteers exhibited charts in College campus on 21.02.2017.
  • Liquid waste recycling of our campus was explained by Dr.D.Kannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Thiagarajar College on 10.01.2017 at 3.00pm.
  • A Special Lecture was arranged on 10.01.2017 at 2.00 pm about "Solid Waste Management Programme". Dr. Kannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Thiagarajar College, Madurai demonstrated the solid litter waste management and vermicompost preparation.
  • A Tree Walk was conducted on 07.01.2017 at 11 am. Dr. Aruna of Botany Department Thiagarajar College explained the significance of tress through campus tree walk.
  • Campus Cleaning was arranged on 07/01/2017 to clean the back yard of quadrangle at 10 am.
  • Project work was discussed on 03.01.2017.
  • Drug Awareness programme was conducted on 27.12.2016 at Diamond Jubilee Hall at 12.15 pm. Mr. Devaraj - Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Madurai gave an awareness lecture on drug abuse and trafficking.
  • Organised a tree walk along with Madura Green on 18.12.2016 at Thiagarajar College campus. Dr. D. Stephen, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, The American College, Madurai explained about the trees of campus. The nativity, uses of trees, its cultural significance, and purpose of bringing the plant to India was explained by him. General public, Nature club students of Thiagarajar College participated in the event. The programme started by 2.30 pm and came to an end by 6.15 pm. Dr.K.Rajendran, Head, Department of Botany welcomed the gathering, Dr.R.Aruna, Coordinator, Nature Club gave vote of thanks.
  • The list of activities to be completed was discussed with students and tentative schedule was framed on 25.10.2016.
  • Part-V Nature Club Orientation was held on 24/10/2016 at 12.30 pm in MH4. There are totally students in I year Nature Club. The students were taught about importance of Nature Club and groups were divided.
