The Women’s Studies Centre of Thiagarajar College, Madurai – 09 organized a State Level Workshop on “AI-Enabled Pedagogy in Higher Education: Innovations in Teaching and Learning” on 25th February 2026 at 9.30 a.m. in PH-1, in alignment with SDG – 4 (Quality Education). The workshop was conducted exclusively for female faculty members to promote the effective integration of Artificial Intelligence in teaching and learning.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. R. Aruna, Director, Women’s Studies Centre. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. D. Pandiaraja, Principal, Thiagarajar College, who emphasized the importance of innovation and responsible use of technology in education. The resource persons were introduced by Dr. M. R. Sumathi, Coordinator, Gender Studies.
The technical sessions were handled by faculty members from Thiagarajar College of Engineering. Dr. R. Leena Sri spoke on AI tools for content creation and curriculum enhancement, Dr. C. Jeyamala discussed AI-powered assessment and personalized learning, Dr. D. Anitha addressed AI-based classroom management and student engagement, and Dr. T. S. Urmila highlighted the ethical and responsible use of AI in education. The sessions included demonstrations of AI tools and interactive discussions with participants.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. M. Alamelumangai, Assistant Coordinator, Women’s Studies Centre. The workshop provided valuable insights into AI-driven pedagogical strategies and encouraged faculty members to adopt innovative approaches in higher education.
