The Women’s Studies Centre, Thiagarajar College, Madurai, in association with Institution's Innovation Council organised an Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme titled “Future Founders: Building Tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs” on 17 August 2026 at 10.00 a.m. at Thiagarajar Mills Higher Secondary School, Kappalur, in alignment with SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth. The programme aimed to promote entrepreneurial awareness, innovative thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset among school students.

Dr. R. Aruna, Director, Women’s Studies Centre, delivered the Welcome Address, while Mrs. L. Muthulakshmi, Headmistress, presided over the programme and encouraged students to develop confidence, creativity and a positive attitude towards entrepreneurship.

Mr. P. Umasankaran, Founder & CEO, Startup News Tamil, served as the resource person and sensitised students on startups, identifying real-life problems, innovative solutions, pitch decks, funding and the stages of entrepreneurship. He encouraged students to learn from failures, maintain a positive mindset and transform challenges into opportunities.

An interactive session enabled students to share their startup ideas and receive valuable feedback and guidance from the resource person.
