Department of Biotechnology
The Department of Biotechnology was established in 2001 with B.Sc., Biotechnology in association with Department of Botany. In 2015, M.Sc., Biotechnology was introduced with support of National Centre of Excellence. The department is actively involved in research, contributing to various national and international publications, and emphasizes innovative education to prepare students for careers in biotechnology and life sciences.
The department is equipped with AAS, HPLC, UV-Spectrophotometer, Fermentor, PCR & Gel Documentation system for carrying out advanced research. The faculties of our department have an accomplished track record with good domain expertise in different area of Biotechnology. The department collaborates with industry for research, internships and placements. Our faculty members have received funds for carrying out research from UGC, Management and TNSCST.
