PLACEMENT POLICY
Thiagarajar College, Madurai has got an exclusive Training and Placement Cell which continues to bring a broad spectrum of opportunities to satisfy the diverse requirements and aspirations of the students. The following policy framework governs the students’ involvement in the various aspects of the Placement Process.
Types of Placement Offers
- Banking / IT / Core Offers – Students can apply for companies of their choice (under these categories) until they secure 1 offer.
- Offers from Academic Institutions – Students may apply if eligible until they secure 1 offer. Those with other offers are ineligible here.
- Dream Offers – Students already placed can apply if the new company offers 2.5× CTC of the current offer (exception for Category 4).
- Other General Non-Tech Offers – Students already with offers in other categories cannot apply. But those with Category 4 offers may apply for 1–3.
Note
- Withdrawal of an offer is allowed only after 70% of classmates are placed and if reasons are genuine.
- Declining an accepted offer will lead to delisting from the Placement Process.
Eligibility for Training & Placement Process
- Final Year UG/PG students only.
- Must register officially by submitting online willingness form.
- Must complete Pre-Placement Training Programme with 90% attendance (training fee applicable).
- All registered students must abide by rules of Placement Cell.
Eligibility for Campus Recruitment Drives
Decided by recruiting organization. Criteria may include:
- Degree and specialization pursued
- Candidate’s gender (diversity hiring)
- Age restrictions
- Percentage in Class X, XII, Graduation, Post-Graduation
- Backlogs or history of backlogs
What is Delisting?
Removal of a candidate from the Placement Process for any of the following offences:
- Not having minimum 90% attendance during training.
- Absent for recruitment drives without prior request.
- Rejecting accepted offer without valid unavoidable reasons.
- Not informing rejection decision to company and Placement Cell.
- Indiscipline during internships damaging college reputation.
- Malpractice during mock or actual assessments.
- Absent for successive rounds without valid reason.
- Photocopying or taking pictures of test materials.
- Non-adherence to Placement Policy.
- False information in CV or Resume.
Note: In case of unforeseen situations, the final call of the Placement Cell and Faculty advisors/Mentors will be absolute and binding.
