The Department of Business Administration – BBA (SF) at Thiagarajar College, Madurai, established in 2010, is a vibrant centre for undergraduate management education. The department is committed to delivering quality, affordable and industry-oriented management education in alignment with the institution’s vision of academic excellence, inclusiveness and value-based learning. The BBA (SF) programme follows a contemporary curriculum designed to meet the evolving requirements of the business and corporate environment. In response to growing student demand, an additional BBA (SF) Section B was introduced in the academic year 2025.

The teaching–learning process in the BBA (SF) programme extends beyond conventional classroom instruction and integrates case studies, presentations, group discussions, management games, peer-based learning and interactive pedagogies to ensure holistic student development. The department is supported by a qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty team, many of whom hold doctoral degrees and actively participate in research, publications, faculty development programmes and academic activities. Faculty members serve as mentors and facilitators, promoting conceptual clarity, analytical thinking and the practical application of management concepts.

Experiential learning forms a core component of the BBA (SF) programme. Students undergo On-the-Job Training in the second year and complete a six-week project in the final year, providing meaningful industry exposure and enhancing professional competence. Student clubs, associations and co-curricular activities further nurture leadership qualities, teamwork, communication skills and innovation. As part of a reputed autonomous institution, the Department of Business Administration – BBA (SF) continues to uphold the legacy of Thiagarajar College by producing competent, ethical and socially responsible management graduates equipped to meet the challenges of the global business environment.
